Rajpurohit moves bail application, custody extended

Mumbai, Oct 6 (UNI) A look alike of Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan, Devisingh Padamsingh Rajpurohit, who allegedly sent a threatening SMS to Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, demanding Rs 25 crore from him, today moved a bail application in a local court.

However, the 37th Metropolitan Magistrate court, admitting the remand application by the investigating agency, extended his police custody till October 10. The bail application will also be heard on the same day, defence advocate I B Singh said.

Rajpurohit (25), hailing from Rajasthan, was brought to the city on September 29, following his arrest by the Rajasthan police for sending a SMS to Mr Bachchan on September 26, demanding Rs 25 crore and threatening to kill him if his demand was not met within three days.

Rajpurohit has played small roles in a few Bollywood films.
