Policeman caught for accepting bribe in UP
Azamgarh, Oct 6 (UNI) The Anti-Corruption cell of the Uttar Pradesh police today caught the Latghat police chowki in-charge red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 2,000 here.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP)(Rural) Sarvesh Kumar Rana, the policeman was taking the money for registering an FIR of one Meena Kumari in Jeeyanpur area.
The woman had approached the police after her minor daughter went missing, but policeman Ramji Yadav allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 5,000 for lodging the FIR.
For this, the cop had already accepted Rs 3,000, the ASP added.
On being informed, the Anti-Corruption team reached the spot and arrested Yadav.
