Le Corbusier remembered

Chandigarh, Oct 6 (UNI) Visionary architect and creator of city beautiful, Le Corbusier, was remembered on his 121st birth anniversary at a function organised by the Haryana Department of Architecture today.

Haryana Financial Commissioner (Finance) Ajit M Sharan appreciated the design philosophy of the great architect and emphasized that architecture should be creative and innovative.

On this occasion, Financial Commissioner (PWD and Architecture) K K Jalan highlighted the importance of energy saving structures and green buildings.

A brief presentation of Life and Works of Le Corbusier and its influence on Architecture in Haryana was given by Praveer Goel, Architecture Department highlighting the impact of the architectural legacy of Corbusier in Haryana.

Mr Arunjot Singh Bhalla, Director of a world famous architectural firm RSP Architects and Planners, Bangalore gave a presentation on the Current emerging trends in Architecture on this occasion.

Dr S S Bhatti, former Principal of Chandigarh College of Architecture delivered a lecture on 'Thoughts of Corbusier.' Dr Bhatti called Le Corbusier a multifaceted creative genius and 20th century Renaissance man.

Senior Town Planner, Haryana Town and Country Planning Department Jaswant Singh gave presentation on Corbusier's influence on Urban Planning in Haryana.
