Jayant Bhuyan, DDG CII passes away
New Delhi, Oct 06 (UNI)Jayant Bhuyan, Deputy Director General, Confederation of Indian Industry and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of India Brand Equity Foundation, passed away earlier today here after undergoing a cardiac surgery.
Mr Bhuyan, 58, is survived by his wife.
A Post Graduate in History from Delhi's St Stephens College, he joined the Confederation in 1975. During his three decades of service with CII he held several important positions.
Mr Bhuyan had headed the International Division at CII, besides having held senior positions in the regions, being the Regional Director of the CII in the Northern Region and the Western Region.
He was also the Secretary General of ASSOCHAM between February 2000 and February 2004.
Since December 2006, he has been the CEO of the India Brand Equity Foundation, a Ministry of Commerce entity run and managed by CII.
