Industrialists teenaged son murdered in Punjab

Sangrur, Oct 6 (UNI) The teenaged son of an industrialist was allegedly murdered outside the Sub Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) residence in the sub divisional town of Malerkotla last night.

Giving details of the incident, SP (detective) Bhupinderjit Singh Virk said that the victim identified as 18-year old, Haroon was murdered with a sharp edged weapon and his body was found outside the SDMs residence this morning.

Mr Virk said that investigations revealed that Haroon was hit by a sharp edged object during a fight with a group of sound technicians, who were part of an orchestra group, which was returning home after attending a marriage function. Incidentally Haroon alongwith nine to ten other teenagers too attended the same marriage function.

The police officer said that the incident occured when the victim alongwith his friends stopped the orchestra group on the way home and misbehaved with the girl artists. The sound technicians who were following the orchestra group immediately pounced on Haroon while his friends managed to get away.

Mr Virk said that during the fight, the deceased was probably hit by a sharp edged object. He said that a case had been registered against three sound technicians, who are absconding.
