Haryana to observe Quami Ekta Week from Nov 19-25

Chandigarh, Oct 6 (UNI) The Haryana government has decided to observe the Quami Ekta Week from November 19 to 25 and the Flag Day on November 25 in a befitting manner.

A letter to this effect issued by the Chief Secretary stated that cultural programmes, seminars, debates, painting competitions, would be organised during the week to promote communal harmony and national integration among the people.

A sustained drive would be carried out to bring about mass awakening against violence, which impinges on social harmony.

National Integration Pledge would be taken on November 19.

Meetings, symposia and seminars would be held to emphasise the themes of secularism, anti-communalism and non-violence. On November 20, welfare of minorities day would be observed and items of 15-point programme will be emphasised.

Language harmony day would be observed on November 21 and special literacy functions, kavi sammelans would be organised on this day. Weaker Sections Day would be observed on November 22.
