Curfew lifted in three areas of south Kashmir
Srinagar, Oct 6 (UNI) Curfew was lifted in three areas in south Kashmir district of Anantnag this afternoon after the locals assured the administration that there would be no demonstration.
According to a police spokesperson at Police Control Room (PCR), curfew, imposed along with the rest of the valley, from yesterday at 0500 hrs in view of the Lal Chowk Chalo call by separatists, has been lifted from 1330 hrs this afternoon.
She said the decision to lift the curfew in the areas of world famous tourist resort and base camp of holy Amarnath cave Pahalgam, Kokernag and Seigafwara was taken after the locals assured the administration that there would be no demonstration.
She said situation was peaceful and decision to lift curfew in other areas would be taken by the local administration after reviewing the situation in their respective areas.
