Bandh in 5 districts to protest Kandhamal violence
Bhubaneswar, Oct 6 (UNI) Four opposition parties today jointly called for 1 12-hour bandh on October 13 to protest the unabated violence against the minority community in the strife-torn Kandhamal district.
Leaders of the four organisations - the CPI(ML), CPI(ML) Liberation, CPI(ML) New Democracy and Samajbadi Jana Parishad - told reporters that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had failed to control the violence.
CPI(ML)Liberation leader Khitish Biswal said a bandh would be observed in Kandhmal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada and Koraput on October 13 to protest rape, murder, house burning and arson by the communal forces.
