Patil seeks report on Karnataka Church Attacks
Bangalore, Oct 5: Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil arrived here on Saturday, Oct 4 following Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asking for a report about violence and attack on places of worships belonging to minority community in Karnataka.
Mr Patil, who was on the way to Puttaparthi, drove straight to Raj Bhavan, immediately on his arrival, held discussion with Governor Rameshwar Thakur. State Home Minister V S Acharya was also present during the discussion. It may be recalled here that since July last attacks and violence were reported in as many as 29 places of worship and prayer halls. Bajrang Dal State Convenor, who owned the responsibility for the attack in Mangalore, resigned from his post. He is on bail at present following a case filed against him over the attack on places of worships.
