Russell Crowe's 'spotlight fears' for pal Leonardo DiCaprio after 'Titanic'
London, October 5 : Actor Russell Crowe has confessed that he was 'worried' about his buddy Leonardo DiCaprio after the huge success of 'Titanic' - fearing it might have a negative effect on his pal.
The 'Gladiator' star and Leonardo became good friends after the duo shot for 'The Quick and the Dead' in the early 1980's - a time when both the actors were not so famous.
Owing Leonardo's shot to global superstardom as Jack Dawson in the Oscar-winning 'Titanic', Russell admittedly dreaded that the young actor would be hounded by Hollywood promoters.
"I was a little worried about him after Titanic," the Daily Express quoted the actor as telling USA Today newspaper.
He said: "The massive success of something like that, it's not always a positive, particularly when you're that young.
"Suddenly you find yourself on lunchboxes and bedroom slippers.
"That can have a deteriorating effect on the inside."
