Major fire guts footwear factory in Delhi

New Delhi, Oct 5 : A major fire gutted a footwear factory here this morning. The fire which broke out around 4.25 A.M. engulfed the entire factory.

"We got a call about the fire. We have deployed 21 fire tenders and around 100 fire fighters are working here to extinguish the fire," said Atul Garg, Fire Officer.

According to the fire fighters, it took them roughly around four hours to bring the fire under control as, it became difficult for us to douse the fire as the rubber lying inside the factory had caught fire and it took longer to douse it.

The reasons of the fire and the magnitude of loss were being ascertained.
