Jeweller couple robbed of Rs 3.5 lakh jewellery
Sangli, Oct 05 (UNI) Three unidentified people today robbed gold and silver ornaments worth about Rs 3.5 lakh from a jeweller, near village Mendegiri, in Jat tehsil of the district.
Police sources said that jeweller Appasaheb Raghunath Soregaonkar (35), accompanied by his wife Aruna, were on their way back to Jat in a motor-cycle this morning, when the three robbers stopped their vehicle after brandishing a gun. After beating the couple, they looted a bag containing 75 gram gold and ten kg silver ornaments.
They fled away after the incident and no arrest was made in this connection so far, police added.
