Woman, 4 accomplices held for acid attack on anganwadi teacher
Gulbarga, Oct 4 (UNI) A woman and her four accomplices were arrested at Yadgir in connection with acid attack on an anganwadi teacher on September 28, here today.
Police said the accused Hemavathi, who suspected that the victim Bannaramma (32) had an illicit relationship with her husband, had reportedly warned her against continuing the relationship.
Later, Hemavathi, with the help of four hired associates -- Revanna Siddhaih, Raju, Sashi and Viswanath, -- threw acid on Bannaramma's face, who sustained 50 per cent burn injuries.
The accused would be produced before the court today, police added.
