SBIPA to stage Dharana on Oct six
Vijayawada, Oct 4 (UNI) As part of the nation-wide call given by the federation of State Bank of India Pensioner's Association (SBIPA), about 600 pensioners from Krishna, Guntur and West Godavari districts in Andhra Pradesh would stage a day-long dharna before the SBI Zonal office here on October six to press their long pending demands.
Talking to UNI here today, SBIPA Deputy General Secretary Rama Krishna Rao said over one lakh pensioners across the country went on a peaceful dharana on September 29 before all the Administrative Offices and a large number of branches of the SBI on their grievances.
He said the federation leaders had met officials in the Union Finance Ministry in New Delhi after the last month's dharana but the response from them on finding a solution to their demand, was not positive.
Mr Rao also said the leaders of SBI pensioners association would sit at Mumbai and decide on the future course of action after the October six dharana.
The pensioner's demands included immediate revision of pension in respect of seventh Bipartite retirees, approval of proposals pending with the Government regarding revision of pension ceiling to 50 per cent of pay and allowance, 100 per cent Dearness Allowance of pension to all earlier retirees and improvement in family pension and commutation.
