Vice President calls on media to be highligh socio-economic issues
New Delhi, Oct 3 (UNI) Vice President M Hamid Ansari today called upon the media to highlight the socio-economic issues for the benefit of the common man.
Mr Ansari was speaking after receiving a copy of the New Delhi edition of 'Nai Dunia" which was presented to him by its chief editor Alok Mehta and his editorial team here.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice President also emphasised that there should be a balance among the various segments of newspapers.
Despite the fast emerging electronic media, the circulation of print media was increasing substantially, he noted.
Mr Ansari said people in distress should get the factual news in their hour of need. "They are mature enough to recognize the true and false news,'' he advised.
