Six Missing Indian fishermen found in Myanmar
Port Blair, Oct 03 (UNI) Indian Authorities today confirmed that six fishermen, who had gone missing from Andaman Islands since September 4, have been found in Myanmar.
According to a message received by Andaman authorities from Myanmar Government, all these fishermen, including two 17-year old boys, were traced on September 23 by local fishermen of Myanmar, sources said today.
These fishermen in one engine dinghy had drifted towards the neighbouring country due to bad weather in the first week of September forcing the Andaman authority to launch a massive search and rescue operation, which did not produce any result.
According to a highly placed source, the Andaman and Nicobar administration has also started the process to bring back all of them to India. The fishermen till then would be kept in a 'Telugu Basti' of Myanmar by the Myanmar Government.
Sources told UNI that in November a group of Myanmarese poachers would be repatriated to Myanmar by the Indian government from Andaman Jail and on return Indian Ships would bring back these six fishermen.
