Kerala receives less rain during monsoon
Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 3 (UNI) Kerala has received 22 per cent less rainfall during this Monsoon season, according to Met office here.
During the four-month period from June to September, the state received 168 cm of rainfall, compared to 278 cm last year. The normal rainfall during this season was 214 cm, a release here said.
The state received only 48 cm of rainfall, less than the average of 68 cm in June. However, Kannur, Kasargod, Kozhikode, Malappuram and Palakkad received normal rainfall.
July was also not better with the state receiving just 51 cm of rains, the release added.
