FIR in Temple stampede lodged at Jodhpur Kotwali

Jodhpur, Oct 3 (UNI) The police have initiated investigation in the September 30, Chamunda Devi Temple stampede after lodging an FIR at the Kotwali police station here.

Superintendent of Police Malini Agrawal said the FIR was lodged yesterday under Section 174 of the Indian Penal Code(IPC) in connection with the death of 224 people in the stampede at the temple on Tuesday.

About 35 people injured in the stmapede were still being treated at different hospitals, where the condition of two was stated to be serious, she said.

Meanwhile, Mr Gaj Singh, scion of Jodhpur royal familiy, has floated Rs One crore fund for extending financial assistance to the stampede victim families.
