CM directs officials to check smuggling of fertilizers
Hyderabd, Oct 3 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy directed the Vigilance officials to deal with iron hand on the misuse of fertilizers.
According to an official release here, Dr Reddy asked the officials to check smuggling of fertilizers outside the state along with Rice and take stringent action against those indulging in smuggling in the border areas of the State.
He was reviewing the supply position of fertilizers and rise in prices of vegetables in the State with the Ministers, N. Raghuveera Reddy, Konathala Ramakrishna and Botsa Satyanarayana and M.Mareppa and senior officials.
The Centre has agreed to allot one lakh MTs of DAP additionally to the State out of which 45,000 MTs will be arriving by October four and the remaing would be arriving 0n october 20.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to ensure fool-proof mechanism for the distribution of fertilizers during the Rabi sesson.
Minister for Agricuture, N Raghuveera Reddy along with the Commissioner for Agriculture will be attending a meeting convened by the Union Minister for Fertilizers at Delhi on October five. The Chief Minister was likely to visit New Delhi on October six and during the visit, he would take of the matter with Centre to allot sufficient stock of fertilisers to the State, the release added.
