Eid celebrated with traditional enthusiasm in Meghalaya

Shillong, Oct 2: Id-ul-Fitr, marking the end of the holy fasting month of Ramzan, was today celebrated in Meghalaya with religious gaiety and fervour.

A congregational paryer was held here and Namaz were also offered at different mosques in the state including Dawki, Nongpoh, and Ladrymbai.

Donning new clothes and skull caps, members of the Muslim community exchanged greetings and sweets while children wearing colourful clothes were seen visiting parks and lake after offering namaz to celebrate Id.

Several religious, social and political leaders have greeted people on the occasion.
