Vice-President inaugurates exhibition on Mahatma Gandhi

New Delhi, Oct 1 (UNI) Vice-President Mohammad Hamid Ansari today asked the people to practice one ideal of Mahatma Gandhi daily, which will enable the next generation to know about his teachings.

Inaugurating an exhibition on the life of the apostle of non-violence in photographs and quotations entitled ''Mahatma Gandhi - My Life is My Message'' at a function here, he regretted that it had become a tradition to remember the Father of the Nation only on two days in a year which ''implies that we have forgotten his contribution.'' The Vice-President said Mahatma Gandhi had an expertise in explaining the difficult and complex issues in simple words.

''If we practice Gandhiji's ideals and teachings whole year like this, his soul would have been more satisfied,'' he said.

He congratulated National Gandhi Museum for organising such an informative and useful exhibition on the icon and asked them to invite school children also to enhance their knowledge on the Mahatma. The Exhibition being organised at Rajghat, here, gives an overview of the life of Mahatma Gandhi in important key dates.
