Mephisto launches Professional Make up Training Academy
Chennai, Oct 1 (UNI) Mephisto Make up Academy, German-based profesional make up Training Institute, in association with Kryolan Cosmetics Limited, India, formally launched its training division, ''Kryolan-Mephisto Professional Make up Training Academy'' in the city.
Tinsel world celebrity Sarath Kumar, President of the South Indian Film Artistes Association, inaugurated the facility yesterday, which was committed to enhancing the professional knowledge of make up artists.
A release from Kryolan said the academy would offer one-year International certificate course, a first of its kind in the country. The course would commence from October and would be a boon to aspiring make up artists in making up hairstyles and prosthetic techniques.
Mr Dominik Langer, Director, Kryolan said since Chennai happened to be a centre for film production in India and also the home of Kryolan India, it has been identified as an ideal location for the academy.
''For the first time, the art of make up will be grounded on scientific principles and structured to emphasize both theory and extensive individual practice. The medium of instruction will be English,'' he said.
The International certificate course would have modules in bridal make up, make up for catwalk and photo shoots, historical and contemporary styles, changing a young face to an oldone and creating a dead face.
It would also include make up for supernatural characters, creating the effect of a surgery through make up and many more.
The hairstyle lessons included over 75 hair cut styles, he said.
In addition to the International course, short-term advanced courses on various areas would be conducted as regular and weekend courses, he added.
