Reshuffle in Delhi police

New Delhi, Sep 30 (UNI) A major reshuffle was today affected in the Delhi Police with several officers being promoted and others transferred to other departments.

The reshuffle saw Jt CP (Crime) Alok Kumar Verma being promoted to Special CP (crime), Jt CP (P and I and police research) Deep Chand promoted to post of Special CP in the same department and Jt CP (Armed Police) promoted to Special CP(Armed police).

DCP (IGI Airport) Shankar Das was transferred as DCP (East district), DCP (East) Ajay Chaudhry was send to a new posting as DCP (South East), DCP (Vigilance) Sanjay Kumar was transferred as DCP (IGI airport), Additional DCP (PCR) R N Meena transferred to DCP (3rd and 6th battallion) and ACP (GK) Ram Gopal to ACP (Okhla Industrial area). Several SHOs level transfers were also affected in the reshuffle.

Further, 44 inspectors have been transferred to the law and order department.

The reshuffle comes close on the heels of the serial blasts in the in South and central Delhi.
