India a significant export market for Australia
Vijayawada, Sep 30 (UNI) Australian Counsul General for South India and Trade Commissioner Aminur Rahman today said India was among the most significant export markets for Australia.
Addressing a seminar on 'Doing business with Australia' here he said Australia could provide value-added competitive solutions and expertise both in traditional and emerging sectors for business.
Mr Rahman said Vijayawada city had always been a significant business destination and the proposed sea port at Machilipatnam, Thermal power projects and food processing zone were important to trigger its growth and development.
Australia had significant expertise to offer in clean energy, environment management, food processing, construction and engineering sectors to support the projects in Vijayawada, he said.
The seminar also highlighted Australia's expertise in buildng and construction, infrastructure, mining and metals, automotive engineering and food processing.
Addressing the seminar Andhra Pradesh Small Industries Association President Y V Krishna Mohan said bilateral trade between India and Australia was increasing over years and both the countries were on the verge of entering into a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) for goods and services. This would enable Indian industries to access Australian technology and resources.
