Developments in Pakistan will have impact on India: BJP
New Delhi, Sep 30 (UNI) Asserting that an ''unstable'' Pakistan would have a direct impact on India, the BJP today cautioned the ruling UPA government that the situation in the neighbouring country was complex and India had to be very alert to the developments taking place there.
Senior BJP leader Jaswant Singh said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his government should realise that the policy of 'silent inaction' would take the country nowhere, particularly when the neighbouring country was on the verge of economic and political collapse, especially in the North-West where the Talibs were taking control.
He said it was not the policy of the BJP to criticise the actions of the Prime Minister, at a time when he was on an official tour abroad, but he found it difficult to understand the Prime Minister's remarks on US President George W Bush. ''I can understand if his love for the country was intense, but would find it difficult to understand his amarous intentions towards the US President,'' he quipped.
