Armed robbers gang busted in Vadodara
Vadodara, Sep 30 (UNI) The Special Operation Group (SOG) of the city police today busted a six-member armed gang of robbers, including its kingpin Ravindra Kosti.
Acting on a tip-off, SOG sleuths led by inspector K M Polra raided Kesaria apartment in the posh Alkapuri area and recovered a country-made revolver, six live cartridges, six swords and other sharp-edged weapons and Rs.62000 in cash.
SOG sources said, of the six arrested under sections 399 and 401 IPC and 120(B) of the Arms Act, two members, including kingpin Ravindra and Ankit Brahmabhatt, were hardcore criminals wanted in a number of murder and attempt to murder cases pending in Ahmedabad.
Ravindra and Ankit were residents of Maninagar and Ahmedabad respectively, while four other members of the gang idetified as Paresh Sharma, Sabbir Kahar, Jagdish Sharma and Jitendra Patel, belonged to Vadodara.
Preliminary interrogation of the dacoits revealed that they had procured the fire arm from Indore and had phanned a series of robbery in the city and some valued customers of HDFC and other leading banks during the Navratri festival.
