AP CM to arrive at Tirumala t'morrow for Brahmotsavam
Tirupati (Chittoor district) Sep 30 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, on a two-day visit to Tirupati/Tirumala from tomorrow, will present 'Silk Vastrams' to Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy on be half of the state government on the first day of the nine-day Sri Vari annual Brahmotsavam at Tirumala temple.
Dr Reddy will arrive at the Renigunta Airport near here at 1600 hrs from Hyderabad and lay the foundation for the much-awaited Rs 340 crores SV Drinking water project, TTD Chairman DK Adikeshavulu Naidu said in a press conference today.
After the inauguration of weaker sections housing colony at Damineedu where the Chief Minister will address a public meeting, and cancer block in SVIMs, Mr Reddy will reach Tirumala. After inaugurating Rs 15 crore Koustubham pilgrims amenities centre at hill top, he will carry the Vastrams on his head from near the Pedda jeeyar Mutt and present them to the temple chief priest.
After darshan of the Lord, Mr Reddy would stay overnight on the hills and go for darshan again the next morning before leaving Tirumala at 0630 hrs and arrive at the Renigunta Airport from where he will proceed to Hyderabad.
In view of the serial bomb blasts across the country, police have made elaborate security arrangements both at Tirupati and Tirumala in view of Dr Reddy's visit, official sources said.
