Indian Americans lobby for nuclear deal
New York/Bangalore / Kolkata, September 29, 2008 : The influential Indian American community is lobbying hard for the India-US civil nuclear deal as it awaits the last hurdle in the Senate before being approved by the US Congress. The Indian Diaspora on Sunday expressed their happiness over the affirmation of the deal by the US House of Representatives and a senate panel. In India, the science fraternity also felt that the deal would rejuvenate the country's nuclear power generation.
