UAE Co to invest 1,500 cr in Tamil Nadu

Chennai, Sep 29: The Tamil Nadu Government today signed an MoU with the UAE-based Harsha Exito Engineering Private Limited for setting up three projects involving a total investment of Rs 1,500 crore.

The MoU was signed by Company CMD Baburaj Dhanraj and Principal Secretary (Industries) M F Farooqui in the presence of Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and other officials at the State Secretariat.

The company, which has manufacturing units in UAE, would set up an equipment manufacturing unit for oil and gas sector at Pillaipakkam Sipcot Industrial Park, R &D Centre at Sriperumbudur Sipcot Hi-Tech SEZ and glass manufacturing facility at Gummidipoondi through its associate companies in India.

This would generate direct employment to 1,500 people and indirect employment to several others.

The company floated by technocrats in foreign countries was a leading player in oil and gas sector and industrial machinery with a presence in UAE.It also has two glass manufacturing units in the Gulf.
