Sugarcane cutters, transporters take out morcha

Kolhapur, Sep 29 (UNI) Sugarcane cutters and transporters here today took out a morcha to the district collector's office to press for their various demands.

The agitators, led by Maharashtra Cane Cutters and Transport Workers Sanghatana general secretary Subhash Jadhav, also submitted a memorandum to resident district collector Ajit Relekar, listing their demands such as separate ''mahamandal'', schools for their children, free medical service, hike in cane cutting rates and implementation of the accident insurance scheme for workers.
