No crackers on Diwali and Durga Puja in Manipur
Imphal, Sep 29 (UNI) The Manipur government has decided to ban the use and sales of crackers during Diwali and Durga Puja considering the law and order situation in the state.
DM (Imphal West) A Ibocha Singh today issued the prohibitory orders under CrPC 144 Sub Section 2, in this regard.
Quoting reports obtained from the police, Mr Singh said there was a likelihood that people would be annoyed in view of the volatile situation in Manipur.
'' There may be breach of peace as well as danger to human lives and properties. Therefore, it was expedient to issue a prohibitory order to stop sale and use of crackers,'' the DM informed.
