ISO certification for 'Akshaya Patra' kitchens
Bangalore, Sep 29 (UNI) 'Akshaya Patra,' the world's largest NGO-run school meal programme, today announced that it had achieved the FSMS ISO 22000:2005 certification.
A release here said the kitchens certified included North Bangalore, South Bangalore, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Hubli-Dharwad and Vrindavan.
This was a first-of-its-kind certification ever to be given to an NGO-managed food programme in the world, it claimed.
'Akshaya Patra' currently feeds over 9.40 lakh children in over 4,500 government and Anganwadi schools across India.
