About 700 provided free medical check up and medicine in Kashmir

Srinagar, Sep 29 (UNI) About 700 patients in far-flung and remote villages in the frontier district of Kupwara were provided free medical check-up and medicine by the Army, a defence ministry spokesman said today.

He said troops of 47 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) organised a day-long medical camp at village Kigam yesterday for the people of different adjoining areas.

As many as 694 patients, including women, children and elderly persons, were provided free medical advice by specialist doctors from Army and civil hospitals. The patients were also given free medicine.

He said the camp was a part of series of such camps being established in different inaccessible and far flung villages in the Kashmir valley by the Army.
