12 feared drown in river Sarju; 5 bodies fished out
Lahimpur Kheri, Sep 29 (UNI) At least 12 were feared drown after a boat capsized midstream in river Sarju in Sigahi area here today.
About 24 people were ferrying in a boat from Khairigarh to Sigahi , when the boat hit an under construction bridge near Johra nallah and capsized, SP Rambharose said.
However, 11 people safely swam out of the river and twelve divers have been pressed into service.
So far, five bodies have been fished out, the SP added.
Meanwhile, senior officials have reached the spot.
