Navratri to be celebrated amid tight security in Guj
Rajkot, Sep 28 (UNI) The Navratri festival beginning from Tuesday will be celebrated amid tight security arrangements in Gujarat in view of the recent terror attacks in the country.
In addition to the elaborate security arrangements by the police and security agencies, complying with the recent orders of City Police Commissioner Sudhir Sinha, major Garba organisers are following strict security measures, including installation of metal detectors, CCTV cameras and private security arrangements.
One of the organisers, Gunwant Delawala said, ''we would strictly obey the rules as per the Police Commissioner's guidelines and would try avoiding any untoward incident.'' Navratri Festival, which holds a special significance in the state, attracts youngsters and elderly alike, with people enjoying both the modern and traditional forms of ''Garba'' and ''Dandiya'' in traditional and colourful attires.
While the modern and high-tech ''Arvachin Raas'' lures the youth, the ''Parchin Raas'' is equally popular among other sections.
Sargam Club, which believes in preserving the tradition, ill organise the ''Gopi Raas'' for the nine nights especially for women along with ''Kanaya Raas'' for girls in the age group of eight to fourteen will also be organised.
Meanwhile, state-of-the-art equipments with best artists from Mumbai and other major cities have been engaged by Akila-Pioneer Group to attract the participants.
Even amid high security arrangements, the enthusiasm among the citizens promises the festival to be as colourful and fun-filled as ever.
