Meghalaya Police chief rubbishes surrender claim

Shillong, Sep 28 (UNI) Meghalaya's Director General of Police B K Dey Sawian has rubbished media reports that the general secretary of the proscribed Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council Cheristerfield Thangkhiew has surrendered before the police.

''There is nothing as such. Certain people are trying to spread rumours on the matter,'' a local daily, said, quoting Mr Sawian said.
