Air Marshal Mukul relinquishes Command of SAC

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 28 (UNI) Air Marshal S C Mukul, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, relinquished the Command of Southern Air Command here today.

He will be taking over the reins of Integrated Defence Staff at New Delhi from October one, a release said here today.

In a traditional military ceremony to bid farewell, he was presented a Guard of Honour by all personnel of SAC at HQs building in Akkulam.

Air Marshal Mukul had taken over the command of SAC on April one this year. During his short tenure here, various significant changes took place.

He was instrumental in strengthening the air defence of Exclusive Economic Zone(EEZ), extending deep into the Indian Ocean and vital assets located in the area, in view of the increasing threat perception in the southern peninsula.

Air Marshal Mukul was the guiding force behind an impressive Air Show held here on the occasion of silver jubilee celebrations, which still lingers fresh in the mind of citizens of Thiruvananthapuram, the release added.
