Vasan hails doctor couple for donating son's organs

Kancheepuram, Sept 27 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Statistics and Programme G K Vasan today said the deceased Mahendran and his parents would be remembered forever for their humanitarian act of donating his organs, including heart to the girl Abhirami.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Vasan said he met the doctor couple Ashokan and his wife in their residence at Thirukazhukundram near here and hailed their decision to donate the organs of their 16-year-old son Hitendran, who died in a road accident recently.

Abhiramai's parents also met the couple and expressed their gratititude to them.

The Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss also met Hitendran's parents at their residence and expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
