Heavy downpour lashes Kolkata and its suburbs
Kolkata, Sep 27 (UNI) Heavy downpour caused by low pressure formed over Bay of Bengal lashed the city and its suburbs since late last night.
As a result, life was disrupted in Kolkata as various lanes and bylanes became waterlogged causing severe inconvenience to daily commuters.
The weatherman forecast a general cloudy sky with the possibility of heavy rain at isolated places in Murshidabad, Nadia, North and South 24 Parganas, Kolkata and Howrah in the next 24 hours.
Rain is also likely to occur at many places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, according to Met officials.
The local Met office recorded maximum temperature at 29.3 degree Celcius and minimum at 24.8 degree Celcius, along with registering 49.4 mm rainfall during the past 24 hours.
