Police burst fake currency racket in Phagwara
Phagwara Sep 26 (UNI) Phagwara Police has burst a fake currency notes racket and arrested two members of an operating in several districts and recovered fake currency in the denomination of Rs 500 near local JCT Mills.
Police was interrogating them to find out the whereabouts of the other gang members involved in the counterfeit currency racket in the state, sources said.
The arrested accused were identified as Deepak and his nephew Chetan of Goraya.
It was learnt that police has confirmed from a local nationalised Bank that the recovered currency notes were fake.
