K'taka Cabinet approves Horticulture and Las Universities
Gulbarga, Sept 26 (UNI) Karnataka Cabinet today approved setting up of Horticulture University in Bagalkot and Law University at Hubli-Dharwad, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa said today.
Briefing newsmen after the meeting here, he said that the Cabinet has also approved setting up of Chemical Laboratories at Hubli and Bellary at a cost of Rs 50 Crores each.
Mr Yeddyurappa said that the Cabinet approved to provide necessary infrastructure for establishment of UGC approved Central University in Gulbarga. "Already 300 acres of land has been acquired at Madaganchi village in Aland taluk, about 30 km from here".
He said that the cabinet gave green signal to allocate Rs 136 Crore to carry out a comprehensive development of Bidar district.
The Cabinet approved allocation of Rs 156 crore for providing drinking water to Hubli-Dharwad twin city.
Mr Yeddyurappa said that the Cabinet took a decision to carryout modernisation of the Thungabhadra Left Branch canal at a cost of Rs 1200 Crore and fixed four years time to complete the work and release Rs 80 crores immediately.
The Cabinet approved construction of Air Port at Bellary.
