Jammu Court directs CB to book SSP in 24-hrs
Jammu, Sep 26 (UNI) A local court directed the Crime Branch (CB) to book Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and register a case against him in 24-hours in connection with the killing of two youths in police firing in Samba district during Amarnath land agitation.
Taking a serious notice of the Crime Branch's failure to register a case against SSP Prabhat Singh, the local court yesterday issued directions to book the police officer within 24 hours.
However, the court also directed that the probe should be initiated by the Crime Branch immediately after registration of the case and the progress should be presented before the court on fortnightly basis.
Earlier the complaint was filed by the parents of the two deceased Sanjeev Singh and Sunny Singh, against the police officer, who was SSP Samba during the agitation and was transferred later and posted as SSP Doda.
