Billy Bob Thornton says ex-wife Angelina Jolie is "one of his best pals"

Washington, Sept 26 : Billy Bob Thornton has lavished praise on his ex-wife Angelina Jolie, insisting that she's one of his best friends in the world.

The former couple married in 2000 and adopted seven-year-old son Maddox together, before divorcing in 2003.

Now, Thornton has said that he has fond memories of Jolie.

"I've never said anything but good things about any relationship I've had and, frankly, that's all I remember about them," Contactmusic quoted him, as telling America's OK magazine.

"I have the utmost respect for Angelina. She's a very sweet person, very talented and one of my best friends in the world," he added.

Jolie now lives with Brad Pitt and has given birth to three biological children with the actor.
