27 Ayurveda colleges in Karnataka lacked staff
Mysore, Sept 26 (UNI) As many as 27 Ayurveda Colleges in Karnataka were at the verge of closure due to lack of adequate staff, however, they were saved due to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) said University Vice Chancellor Dr S Ramananda Shety.
Speaking after inaugurating a three-day State level Conference of Ayurveda Colleges in the State, he said that the sorry state of affair came to light at a recent Syndicate meeting in which a proposal to derecognise these colleges were raised.
"However, the derecognisation proposal was dropped on humanitarian grounds on my initiation as it ceases the fate of 1947 students studying in these colleges," he added.
Dr Shetty called upon the students to revive the interest in Ayurveda studies.
