Poonam Mahajan likely to contest LS polls from South Mumbai: Munde

New Delhi, Sept 25 : BJP leader Gopinath Munde said on Thursday that Poonam Mahajan, daughter of late Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Pramod Mahajan, is likely to contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

While ruling out Rahul Mahajan's entry into politics, Munde said: "Rahul Mahajan will not enter politics. He is busy with his reality show. However, Poonam Mahajan is likely to contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections from South Mumbai constituency against Milind Deora of Congress."

However, Munde said that a final decision on Poonam's candidature will be taken by the party and he was only "speaking his mind on the issue".

According to reports, since Munde, a former Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, is arguably the most important leader of the BJP in the State, it is highly unlikely that his suggestion will be shot down.
