Purnia, Sept 25 (UNI) World famous spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravishankar today criticised the killing of female foetus and described it as one of the greatest sins of mankind.
The spiritual guru opined that in human civilisation the status of male and female was equal. ''Commiting crime against women and girl children would bring great disaster in our society,'' he said.
The religious leader today visited the flood ravaged localities of the district and met the people at a relief camp in Jankinagar.
This eminent religious leader and the founder of ''Art of Living'' Sri Sri Ravishankar said the chief characteristic of India was the unity among its people during a disaster.
He said that this unity and fraternity was shown during the catastrophic flood in the Kosi region of Bihar when people of different caste, creed, and religion across the country extended their helping hand to the flood affected people of north Bihar.
After facing this catastrophic flood this year, Bihar needed help and assistance to reconstruct its ravaged structure- felt Sri Sri Ravishankar.
The ''Art of Living'' organised classes of 'dhayan, pranayam and yoga' among the flood hit people of in several relief camps.
