24-hour Forest Control room at Pampa: Minister
Pathanamthitta, Sep 25(UNI) Kerala Forest Minister Binoy Viswam today said the Forest Department would open a 24-hour control room at Pampa during the coming ''Mandala-Sabarimala'' festival season.
Inaugurating the ''Sabaritheerhtam water project, implemented by the Eco Development committee, he said the control room would be for helping communication between the Devaswom Board and the Forest Department.
Mr Viswam said the department would post three Assistant Conservators of Forests who would take care of the control room on rotation basis.
The Forest Department would extend full support for the developmental works included in the Sabarimala Master Plan at the Ayyappa Temple there, he added.
The Minister said a feasibility study would be conducted soon for setting up a plant at Pampa for re-cycling the plastic leftovers in the area.
