Vigilance to tightens its noose againt corrupt officers
Patna, Sep 24 (UNI) Under a special drive to check corruption, State Vigilance Bureau has tighten its noose against government servants amassing assets disproportionate to their known sources of income.
Vigilance sources here today said that the bureau was collecting information about the government servants who have properties disproportionate to their income.
The sources further said that DA case will be filed against moneyed mandarins if the informations against them were found true during the investigation.
A team would be constituted to investigate the informations collected by various means and to handle the DA case, sources said.
The sources informed that the government officers who have several houses or plots would be under the scanner of the vigilance which would also consider the expenditure on the house, number of vehicles and their brand, any business in the name of their spouse, recent admission of their ward to any institution with hefty donations, and number of bank accounts before instituting the DA case.
Altogether 240 government servants inclduing 80 gazetted officers had been arrested since 2006, when the Bureau started the drive against corruption, sources added.
