Unleash counter offensive to halt communal forces: Gurdas

Kottayam, Sep 24 (UNI) CPI Parliamentary party leader and AITUC General Secretary, Gurudas Dasgupta has appealed to Secular forces to unitedly unleash a counter offensive to halt the aggressive designs of communal forces.

At a meet-the-press programme here, the trade union leader charged that the BJP government was adopting a ''soft approach'' to communalism and had failed to prevent vandalism.

The BJP was aiming at ''communal consolidation'' in order to win the election, he charged.

Referring to Special Economic Zones he contended that his party was against further expansion of SEZs in any part of the country.

Industrial development had taken place without SEZs during the past 50 years. SEZs were ''nothing but Special Exploitation Zones'', he charged.
