Six arrested with 9.45 quintals of poppy husk
Moga, Sep 24 (UNI) Police have seized 9.45 quintals of poppy husk and bust a six-member gang of drug smugglers active in the district, Moga SSP Ashok Baath today said.
The CIA staff patrolling party last night intercepted a jeep coming from Bathinda district near Dina Sahib village. On search of the jeep the police recovered 27 bags of poppy husk weighing 9.45 quintals. The six occupants of the vehicle were nabbed.
The SSP claimed that the gang was active in the district from last 3-4 years and was led by Gurmail Singh and Sukhchain Singh who used to smuggle drugs from Rajasthan and supply to the customers through the other four members.
